Questions to Ask Before Booking a Newborn Photographer

By Marianna · Golden Art Photography · Updated 2026-10-23

Ask about the photography experience, complete cost and finished photographs before comparing collection names. Clear answers help you choose a newborn session that fits your family, rather than making assumptions from an image or starting price.

Ask how the session follows your baby

  • How are feeding and soothing handled?
  • How do you choose poses that suit the baby?
  • Can we discuss photographs we like without requiring an exact pose?

Golden Art uses a gentle, baby-led approach. A photography consultation is also a good time to share practical concerns about your family's visit.

Ask who and what is included

  • Does this collection include parents, siblings or grandparents?
  • Which wraps, props and accessories are provided?
  • What digital images, retouches and printed extras are included?

At Golden Art, Simply Baby is baby-only. The Family Story and Deluxe Newborn Experience include family combinations.

Ask about the full booking plan

Confirm how your due date will be used in scheduling, the deposit, date fees and location charges. Ask when your edited gallery will arrive and how downloads work. A promise of a specific opening should come from the studio directly.

Use these questions for any photographer you are considering. They help you understand the offer without relying on unverified comparisons or a claim that one style is best for every family.
